Hi all, I've got a loaner G20 right now with iDrive 7, which is perfect since I'm thinking of ordering one to add to our G01 X3. In terms of iDrive 7, I love how quickly it boots up as well as how much faster it loads online results and online traffic compared to iDrive 6. However, I'm a little concerned about POIs and how it pulls them.

On iDrive 6 when you search for POIs that aren't in the car's database, it will search HERE.com to see if the result is there. Makes sense as HERE is owned by BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz. But since I'm in Dallas and it's growing like crazy, the newest businesses seem to take awhile to show up on HERE. Thankfully, I can just say "online search" via voice recognition or go to the "online search" app to force the car to search via Google, which has a far more robust POI system.

On iDrive 7 when searching this week, it seems to pull up a combined onboard HERE and Yelp POI list. That's pretty neat, but I still can't find anything from Google. I don't see it on the apps menu as well like on iDrive 6. For instance, I tried to find directions to a new restaurant that opened a few weeks ago and iDrive 7 couldn't find it. But yet it's on Google Maps already and thus you can find it on iDrive 6.

Am I missing something here because it's a loaner and I'm not logged into ConnectedDrive on this car? Or did BMW really take away Google search on iDrive 7? I know Mercedes-Benz took away Google search on COMAND and replaced it with HERE.com, but Audi still has it even though they also own part of HERE.
