I believe rear fogs are red, not white (from all the cars I've had with them). Perhaps red LEDs can exist behind a white lens, but that would seem odd. Usually, it's a brighter second setting for the taillamps. |
LEDs do not need the lense for coloring but as noted above rear fogs are not typically a US option and it would seem those are US cars.
