Not really, if you buy the regular 3 series (or actually almost every BMW model) right after the release, the LCI will come in about 3.5 years, not 1.5 years.
The M4 will probably be available just a few months after the new 4 series was released and the LCI will not be already waiting behind the door.
Okay, since you change your cars after 1-2 years it doesn't matter that much for you. I usually buy (not lease) my cars and keep it for 4-5 years, so it's a different story. It's not the end of the world, but the timeline of the M3 is frustrating.
