There is actually very little official info from BMW, if any. Based on dozen reports of other German buyers affected by this hailstorm, BMW is assessing the damage on each vehicle independently.

So far, we know that some cars had minor damage in terms of smaller number of dents on the roof and hood, while others suffered severe denting and flooding due to broken windshields and rear glass. Former will be repaired. Latter will be written-of and replaced by newly built cars. Insurance companies also have a big influence on the assesment process.

Newly built cars will be prioritized to hit the production line as soon as possible. Estimates are this will take another 3-6 weeks.

Legally, in EU a new car can be repaired before delivery if the repairs are minor, and perforned by authorized personell with factory parts in a way that the end result does not differ from unrepaired new vehichle. Buyer has no right to refuse delivery of such a car.

Buyer can refuse to accept the car only if repairs can be detected and they affect the performance, functionality or aesthetics of the car in any way that differentiates it from a "new" car.
