I don't think it can hurt to throw out the number you want back to him, but I just wouldn't waste a ton of time going back and forth.
Regarding the loyalty incentive, I generally rely on the Edmunds message boards for up to date lease incentives.
This is the thread where I saw the $2000 loyalty number. You can post there, with your zip code, and they will get you up to date numbers. Just ask specifically for what incentives you want; i.e. if you don't ask for loyalty or conquest, many times they don't post it.
