Sorry, brain freeze on my part with the twin turbo comment (edited now).

You can argue with your dealer if it is normal or not all day long and their response is going to be the same: -Normal.

New car with a turbo engine will burn some oil. I had BMW dealer argue with me that 1 qt for every 1-2K miles is within spec.

Not sure what you guys are looking for as compensation? For a new car, new engine? That's not going to happen.

That's why you lease these cars and happily return them in 3 years.

If you own them, change your oil every 5k miles and don't look back.
You're right, you're wasting your time bitching to a dealer because they won't do anything unless it triggers a permanent fault code, which they can go on.

Subjective diagnosis makes it difficult for them to substantiate a bill to BMW.

The only other option is a class action lawsuit but everyone, cumulatively, would have to prove intentional negligence and a defect on BMWs part.
