What I do find strange is that this version was not released for upgrade over the internet until very recently. Why was this version held back until now? It has worked perfectly in my car since early April.

From what I was told by my dealership (which makes sense to me) is that the dealer installed updates are like semi beta in which they load at dealership level first to address problems. Once it's been fully tested out in the wild , they push it OTA to everyone. Like they're doing 11/2019.70 now
People who are still having issues will have 03/2020.xx loaded at dealerships until it's proven itself before they push it out. I guess a bit like iOS beta testing.
To be honest though I haven't requested a dealership update since 07/2019.xx as everything in my G20 has been working perfectly the past 6 months, excluding the dodgy cross traffic alert
