You can try to uninstall the bmw connected app and reinstall it. See if that helps with your issue. Or check for software upgrade in the iDrive 7 menu.
If your car says it's up to date but your phone continued to insist on an upgrade but gets stuck (like the image you posted above) then I suggest calling bmw for help.
