You need to try out the different seats for an extended period of time. I would try for an overnight test drive.

I am not sure about the 3 series but I believe that BMW makes at least three different types of seats. I have the luxury seating package which gives me multi-contour seats with something like 22 adjustments. Most people can find a way to get comfortable with them. But the forum is replete with members who have had problems with other seats.

In many ways seats are one of the most important feature in a car. After all, you use them every time you use the car.
