I bought the M340i strictly for the fact it was a in-line 6 with a turbo. Also it had awd and was the best tunable engine at the time. It seemed like most manufacturers were putting out 4 cylinder with the turbos tuned for maximum hp...and it fit that sweet spot between the 4 cylinder and the M cars....
