Strangely I heard this same refrain from buyers when GM launched the C7 and again with the C8, and I will hear it again when introduce an Hybrid or full EV version of the Corvette.
There are plenty of other cars to purchase if one feels the BMW is so distasteful. If BMW feels the hit financially they will do another re-design, but my guess is, this is what they offer, so you either like it and buy it, or you don't and shop elsewhere.
