1M, M2, and the newer M3/4 are not cars that I would consider analog really in any sense other than the fact that you can still get them with manual transmissions.

The 1M has hydraulic steering, too, so I’m not sure where you’re getting that the E92 is more analog. The 1M is generally considered more fun to drive than the oversized E92 (and M2,) and it’s really the spiritual successor to the 2002 Turbo from the early ‘70s.
