I know you've already been but for those searching in the future... go to Mr Gloss in Moorabbin!
Our family has been going to him for years and their repairs are excellent. Also, their service is extremely supportive especially given the way usual smash repairers are.
I now live in Sydney so I don't have access to them anymore but my dad still goes to them with his 5er.
