I have realised that if I'm in the car on my own and I switch off and get out the screens shut down. Wife in the car they carry on running - but - if she then opens her door the system shuts down.
I can only assume that the system detects an seats being used/empty and produces (once you spot it) perfectly logical behaviour...leave system on for radio etc if at least one seat is occupied - clever.

Yes. That's how it works
My wife says it's because the car knows she's special, which is why it keeps playing music till she opens the door (which is usually long after I've opened mine)
