I've gotten into the habit of moving the shifter into S mode immediately upon leaving my driveway (leaving the car in Comfort mode), mostly because it also turns auto stop-start to off.
If my trip is more than a quick errand, I will usually press the Adaptive button, as this is the mode with the best overall feel when combined with sport transmission, IMHO.
I always remote-start the car and temperature gauge is usually at optimal before the car leaves my garage. Does the increased holding of lower gears from sport transmission mode cause more wear and tear on the drive train?
