Had a 335d and now a m340d, both tourings. I do approx 20k miles a year with a mixture of 30 miles each way commuting to the office and sometimes in excess of 100miles to sites, on average I’ve managed over 48mpg. This is easily 10% improvement on the 335d and is also a much more refined car.
Personally think the m340d is the best and quickest all round diesel which returns a really great mpg.
For 12k miles a year I’d be keeping the m340i
