This is my least favorite part of the 8er. The rear is SO tall and bulbous, BMW had to pull out all the tricks to visually slim it (giant license plate holder lines, giant contrasting color diffuser, giant ducktail, countless horizontal lines). Even in that pic, you can see how tall and bulky it is from a front 3/4-ish view. It's also being compounded by how skinny the new taillight designs are.
