I'm surprised that nobody has asked about the provenance of the image in
SCOTT26's original post. The logo in the top left corner pointed me at this site, where graphic designers sell their 3D models.

I couldn't immediately see any details of the author? Are we to believe that this is a 3rd party who happened to come close the the BMW design, or was this uploaded semi-officially by somebody at BMW?
I do note that this model doesn't have that ugly hood line.
