Just to update: did it today. Takes about 5-7 minutes. You only have to unplug the rear usb plug to slide the cup holder out of place, and then the NFC tray is accessible to pull out. Wireless charging tray slides right in. Still have no idea how to code reminder though (using bimmercode). Purchased from bmwpartspros.com.
