This is where you have a conversation with the general manager that if they try to exploit the low availability now, you won't be a customer now or in the future if that is the way they do business.
I won't play their stupid games.
But the other side of the same coin is if there is a glut of product, do you demand every last nickel from the dealer?
Personally, I want a relationship where I can get a reasonable price all the time and without all the crappy "let me talk to the manager, etc."BS.
If one dealer won't do that for me, I will find another. Or another car company altogether.
