Definitely not normal.

My car has 5 000 km without any problems.

Anyone on Europe with this problem? Or is it exclusive to US cars?
20 years ago a car burning oil meant the engine was on the way out.

Modern engine normally consumers a certain amount of engine oil. This is necessary to lubricate the cylinder walls, piston, piston rings, turbos.

Additional oil consumed in a turbocharged engine is mainly due to the heavy turbo lubrication requirements.

I realize a lot of you guys first instinct is to run to the dealer and why not, it's free and it seems like the smart thing to do but it's honestly waste of time unless the vehicle is generating a fault code or telltale sounds of piston knocking.

BMW standards for oil burning is a quart every 750 miles (1207klm) or else they won't do a thing but top it off and send you on your way.

However, it's your time, use it how you like. Best of luck.
