They drained the oil and measured it again, loss of 1.26 qts over 1100 miles. Service reported to BMW their findings, while this is just a hair under that 1qt/750mi advisory previously posted, BMW has stated that they want to replace the valve cover gasket and remeasure after another 1000 miles.
As the gasket needs to come from Germany, I expect to be out of the car for another 2-3 weeks but I will update when I can.

I sincerely doubt the valve cover gasket, on a brand new vehicle is leaking but at least they'll document the issue..
