Downsides to PPF. Well. If the PPF is a bad quality one, it will yellow over time. Good PPF will not. And if you decide to sell your car to a dealership/online dealership or, if it's a lease, if you turn it back in, you won't get back what you spent on the PPF.

PPF is probably well worth it. I haven't ever had PPF on any of my cars and there are rock chips on all of them.
