This is analog/digital hybrid solution: Dials are analog, psyhical dials, but they are hidden under the semi-transparent display surface. If you pay close attention on the first picture below, you will see a vague outline of white dials in the middle of each circle.
Numbers are backlit, and digital display is in the center-lower part of the instrument cluster.

Saw this just moments ago in Motor.de. What a pity. This cluster is not growing on me. It looks very bland. I really hoped Live Cockpit Plus was the analog-digital solution in the 530e.
