Perhaps they slightly scratched the surface of the mirror and polished it to have the scratch disappeared.
That happened to me in the back glass some years ago. I ask them to change the glass due to some scratches (made by someone with bad intentions). What they did was to polish the glass, when I took my car it was ok until I entered a tunnel and others’ lights on the back surface made shades and rainbows all over the glass.
