It means "Take all" in the local Shona language. The name was used as the local slang word for Salisbury now known as Harare where I was born and raised.
The name originated from the Southern, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland Federation days that was formed in the 1930's? and dissolved in the 1960's when Zambia (N Rhodesia) and Malawi (Nyasaland) and later Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) gained independence from Britain.
In the federation days, Salisbury the capital of Southern Rhodesia used to receive the bulk of overseas colonial funding from London much to the disgust of the local authorities in Blantyre & Lusaka hence the origin of the name.
More recently the name has been adopted by the current ZANU PF regime "as a cry of victory"
