Presumably this will use FaceID so if your phone is stolen, unless they can break into that, they won't be able to access your car. |
Which will likely happen if Apple Wallet is used as a bridge between key and BMW but then it's just more steps to actually get your car unlocked vs. comfort access where all I need to do is place my hand on the handle to unlock and enter.
It's the world we're living in - technology focused, but it's not something I would use just out of sheer hassle. |
Ultimately it will be an option in case you decided to forego using your regular key.
For some people, leaving the house with just a phone, no wallet or car key is a feature worth having. But I doubt this will be mandatory and every car will come with a key regardless.
