The timeline of the M3 is really frustrating. You can buy it 2 years after the release of the regular 3 series and just about 1.5 years before the LCI. So either you buy it early (with usually bad deals because it's "new" and maybe with some first year model problems) and it may annoy you when the LCI gets some changes you like or you wait almost 4 years after the regular model was released.
Sure, the M3 is going to have the front of the 4 series and the LCI will not affect the front (probably), but the part I hate the most about the new 3 series are the rear lights and it's almost a sure thing that they will change it with the LCI (maybe the shape, maybe the lighting technology, maybe both etc.).
The fact that it actually may have 2 LCI steps (like the F80) is another story.
