We have one on order. We spent a good amount of time driving it before deciding. It is larger, though i didn't notice too much compared to the M3. The power delivery is great, its not a raw as the M3 but still impressive. I found the interior ok, not great. I did notice the plastic if i recall correctly. The seats were comfy. I'm glad they brought back the bolster (perfect for stashing your cell). I HATED that grill in pictures but i'm actually warming to it. I added the CF spoiler to give it some flare. I don't know if I'll enjoy it as much as the M3, I know i'll enjoy the comfort more though.
I didn't have an F30 so I can't speak on the OP's post but I think when you own the previous model you have high standards for the next and it takes a lot to win you over. Going wayyyy back, when Acura changed from the Integra GSR to RSX i didn't want it and when Lexus when from the IS300 to the 250/350 I didn't want that either.
