EDIT: the images appear to be back up with some intermittent 404s.
Hi all,
Call me obsessive but I figured out how to reverse engineer the M340i configurator images from the following page.
https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3-se.../overview.html. My M340i is waiting at port so something to do in the meantime
When you click on the "performance" tab to get to the M340i, it uses javascript to load in the following image:
https://cache.bmwusa.com/cosy.arox?p...ARENT&angle=40
You can modify the query parameters in this URL using the
M340i order guide to configure the car that you like:
Vehicle (ex. 203Q): model number from order guide. 203Q is the model number for the M340xi.
Paint (ex. P0C31): paint option code from the order guide, prepended with "P0". Change the last 3 characters to the paint code you want. C31 is the code for Portimao blue so I changed it to "P0C31"
sa (ex. S01PD): A comma delimited list of all option codes, each prepended with "S0". Notice the "S01PD" option, which is the 18 inch wheels option code 1PD. 1PL is the code for one of the 19 inch wheel options. Change this value to S01PL and you get the 19 inch wheels.
Another example: add S05AZ, which is laser lights (5AZ) and see that the headlight style changes. I'm not sure how it behaves when options conflict, so I just removed all options except for the two I listed here (

I haven't experimented too much further options wise.
quality, width, sharpness: Not sure what the maxes are here, but setting them each to 9999 results in a larger, higher quality image.
angle (ex. 40) Angle view of configurator photo. Can specify value from 0 to 360.
Anyway, enjoy
