BMW has been shipping 40-50% of units with the HK (in North America at least). Our research leads us to believe fewer than that number would select it, but they get it with a package. Depends on the model, but call it 60-65% of buyers would be satisfied with the HIFI, 25-30% with the HK, and 5-10% want (and are willing to pay) for something more. When we're trying to determine viability of developing our SoundstageŽ product for a vehicle we assume only 1-2%.

Be interesting to see, but my guess is those numbers won't change much for the G20, for a bunch of reasons. For one, BMW has the dev cost/margins/demand figured out the way they want it, they aren't going to try to leave money on the table. Two, people are always expecting more over time, in infotainment more than other areas maybe at the moment. And three, some people are going to buy it regardless - either because the want the premium product or because they got it with a package.
