3800lb sounds right for the RWD M3/4 competition. The AWD will be closer to 4000lb IMO.

Lighter weight, RWD, DCT is what differentiated the M3/4 vs its competition, so yes. I am reserving judgment until the official specs are out, but I am definitely looking elsewhere.
