I had an F21 240 with OEM LSD. It was very tossable and fun (shorter wheelbase) with plenty of power.

The 4 GC has a bit more power, lots more structural rigidity, more composed, far better materials. It's better in every way, except that it's not as light and tossable.

And, to the OP's point, I would not step down in power unless it were a second car for family, commuting, or whatever. Or unless finances really insisted up on it.

After having even a fun car for six years, I understand the itch for something different and new. And I understand trying to rationalize one's way into the more affordable new-car solution--which I think may be happening here.
