In fact I find the brakes a little spongey on the M340i, especially for a performance car. I would prefer a more confidence inspiring brake feel. Sometimes when coming to a stop quickly, it feels like the car won't stop in time.
I have very little issue with stopping smoothly unless auto start stop interferes but even then it's not too bad

I can come to a smooth stop if I focus on it, but it's harder than most cars to stop without getting at least a small lurch forward/backward.
The brake feel is weird due to not being linear at all. Initial bite is good, but then there's really no feel and seemingly a lack of stopping power until you press down very hard. Both pedals are rather soft, tbh. And the steering. The performance is obviously there, but the feedback is lacking or even unsettling at times. At the end of the day, it's at least part luxury car so the softness is understandable. Not going to complain too much about not being perfect. Easily the best car in the segment, at every trim level.
