If you put your instrument panel in the “power rating” mode that shows a percentage scale instead of a tachometer it’s relatively easy to see what happens during braking.
As you gently brake you will see the percentage scale go down to at least 10% below the line, which I believe represents the power being recovered by regenerative braking. But then all of a sudden the needle pops up to zero and the feel of the brakes changes. I think we are feeling this sudden change, when it apparently stops or starts using regenerative braking.
