I see one way out of this for BMW.
G80 M3 - AWD
G82 M4- AWD
G87 M2- RWD - aka " pure"
G85 M2- SEDAN/GRAN COUPE - RWD - aka "Pure"

See above... And I agree... I don't mind if the successor has a 2 series badge - A sedan is still needed.
