It all boiled down to, don't forget that enthusiasts are the most loyal customers you have and leaving us behind for short term gains will destroy the long-term prospects of the brand itself. I told him no matter what happens, always keep a car like the M2 Comp in the stable or else even BMW will forget where they came from.

Honestly the current 2-series, although more so the M2, is having its E39 moment. They really can't afford to screw it up in my opinion. I've already defected to Mercedes for other vehicles, and the M2 is the only vehicle that is keeping a BMW in my garage after 25+ years of BMW ownership.
