So the best approach is diag mode but then there is increased risk of battery drain and shutoff hence using the voltage regulator/battery charger to be minimise risk.

if I do coding on a 330e should I code with engine running or in diagnostic mode (w/o charger but vehicle fully charged) ?
is diagnostic mode using the high voltage battery ?
