By far the biggest surprise to me in the new M340 is the highway fuel efficiency. My commute is almost all highway and some small town driving for a few blocks. When I am driving conservatively rather than aggressively I am getting numbers I could not have imagined. This morning after a 17 km commute I was at 5.4 litres per 100 kms (44.56 mpg -US, 52.3 mpg Imperial). The best I got in my AWD Acura TLX V6 which was already pretty good with cylinder deactivation (ran on three cylinders while cruising) was 6.9.
I wonder how the G70 and C43 compare in this regard. Of course I'm aware it is much different in city driving. But I think it is quite miraculous. I'm pretty impressed with the engineering that has gone into this version of the B58.
