Well, that depends on how you look at it. If something sells more than something else for whatever the reason, is it safe to say that the item/thing that sold the most is the more popular/desired item/thing? On the other hand, someone might actually like the look of the M4 better, but needs the extra doors for practicality reasons so they go with the M3.
