No chance of that, IMHO. There's nothing wrong with the S55. And if there were, switching to the new architecture alone wouldn't improve the situation. The new B* engine family is about lower costs through more shared parts. But you'd negate that with all the money spent on M-ifying what would now be two engines for a single car.

Agree. Next M3/M4 seems plausible. I think Power eDrive is a likely pairing with the S58 too, maybe in a future, post G generation M5.

Given the age of the current generation X3/X4, that's going to wait for Gxx.

However, with the timing of the X3 vs. the 3, it seems at least possible the G generation X3 M, if it will exist, which I give a good shot, could predate the G generation M3.
