Visually my guess is that 19” is the sweet spot as it is on the F80. I also suspect it is a good compromise for ride quality.

I agree with you for 19" on the F30 series, however the 20" on display in Paris on the G20 made complete sense and did not look to large at all.
It also depends a lot on the wheel design.
