It's not so much the assembly I would be worried about it is the parts supply. More stuff will be sourced from Mexico compared to Germany not just for NAFTA reasons but for shipping costs as well. The Mexican steel making is not up to par with other countries, and yes I doubt the quality control for ppl making $4/hr at the tier 1,2 suppliers will be up to par. When vw started making cars in Mexico in the 90s, the quality was terrible, rusted like crazy and fell apart.
I would trust Made in Canada, USA, or Germany but they chose the lowest cost for a luxury brand, that will tarnish their image.
