That's my point. You said that the Big 12's spot in the playoff was cemented, but if the top team loses the championship game they could easily be knocked out. While this could happen in any conference, it is more likely to happen in the Big 12 since their championship game is a rematch of the top 2 teams. Other conferences have divisions, so the disparity between teams in the championship game can be higher (see Clemson vs UNC, Alabama vs Florida, etc)
