Coming from a country where it is prohibited to drive with summer tyres during the winter... my bet is to get universal/all season tyres from ones like goodyear or michelin. You would be covered for whole winter without any issues, unless you live in highlands.. As that 1 cm of snow every 3 years is not an issue at all for all season tyres.

You get good prices on both with delivery to UK (pre-brexit obviously)...

At least in my home country we usually have two sets of tyres or whole set of rimms with tyres what you store in shed/garage offseason. You winter and summer tyres last twice long so in the long run you end up spending the same.

Only issue for me is that my lease company might need my employer approval for tyre change, and employer reps(read HR/approvers) are idiots.
