That is interesting. My tyre pressures dropped by around 7psi according to the TPMS readout but the ambient lighting didn't blink. I had notifications on my live cockpit as well as idrive. Wonder where that setting is. Mine might be disabled from the factory since I've gotten calls via apple carplay and the light has never blinked.
