BMW is very weird when it comes to mobile device support. There are some things available on iPhone that can be used with the car, but some features that they have for Android devices will not be allowed on iPhone.
For your issue though, I don’t think Alexa is supported on either devices in a BMW. It just wasn’t integrated like Siri was, somehow the software is coded to support Siri but not Alexa, so I don’t think it can be coded in to support it. I believe coding only works to disable certain things in the ECU, or to make it do things that are already available in other BMWs but not in this particular model.
