As an owner of a X3Mcomp the lag was terrible when new. After first service it got better. When moving the throttle to sport or sport plus it improves significantly. After 8000 miles it has really improved. It stills shows its ugly head from time to time but in 40-60 degree weather, when warmed up it is a rocket. I am certain some of it is tuning to protect the trans from all the torque, and also the engine was clearly designed for the lighter M3/M4. Alpina uses the engine in the B3 and B4 that is coming but changes the tune for more torque and less hp. My guess is that would have been perfect for the X3M. Any questions feel free to message me. And no I am not a rookie, having owned 3 M6 vehicles, F85 X5M and now awaiting delivery of my new m8 comp.

Peace,
Noushy
