I'm sorry but across every media/social media channel I've seen nothing but mockery, anger and disappointment in latest design direction.

It seems like the design team is caught in an echo chamber of self-delusion. Sales will tell the picture but one of the leading indicators is immediate customer feedback and it is terrible so far.
