Wow, that's outrageous! One thing to say they won't pay out for ceramic coating, but to then not allow a renewal is quite another!

Only experience I've had is someone reversed into my parked car in 2021. All picked up on dashcam, so was able to claim and they also allowed me to send the car off to the 3rd party that did the ceramic coating of the front bumper after the repair / respray was done.
